Congrats TY!

So.. Ty found out a couple months ago that he got into Podiatry school in Arizona. We were so excited for him........... we threw him a little foot party. Now I realize most of this post is of the Foot Cake we had made for him............. but did you see it? Its awesome and I can't believe how detailed it is. Shout out to Gourmet Cakes by Socorro!! I am convinced after the wedding cakes she did for our family, then this weird request for a podiatry cake, she can do anything!

We made up a game for Ty to guess which words did not fit into the podiatry world. He lost. :)

Not sure what face this is Jess is making, but I had to put it in here because it reminds me of the Flynn Rider face. "Hi, How ya doin." Right??

Awesome right??????? It was gross but fit the theme of our party perfect! Congrats Ty, we'll miss you.

I know this is way late, but for journals sake I need to make sure I post this. These are all of my babies in order.

We are so excited to have another baby boy. I get a little teary looking back at the hospital pictures of the other boys. Not to get sappy, but they are my greatest blessings and I am so grateful to have them. Seems like yesterday, and now in April we will have another one

I figured I better blog October since we are almost back there again. Seriously slacking! Anyway Linds turned 22.......... which was exciting........... because its her birthday.

We went to the pumpkin patch with my cousin Kari who was visiting. We went on the hayride, picked out a pumpkin, and hung out with the pigs. Surprisingly, Canyon dove right in there with the pigs and thought it was hilarious to pick up their back legs and watch them scramble. It was pretty funny.

Yep my little Mr. Incredibles. I MADE their costumes this year. Yep you heard me right............. Ok well my mom made them, but I helped and it was my idea. I thought they turned out pretty cute.

Crew HATED the mask. Here Crew is flying off the couch to get away.

For Jesse's big 3-0 birthday, Linds came up with the idea to surprise Jess with a Nerf War. Everyone had guns and ammo, we moved furniture around, we had rules, and game on. Yes, I know it seems a little immature but that is just because you were not there. Seriously FUN!

Shop with a Cop 2011

This year D and I had the opportunity to go do Shop with a Cop in Spanish Fork. This is a program that helps kids who may be less fortunate have a little for Christmas. Kmart donates a $110 gift card and they get to.............. well shop with a cop. All the officers who want to be involved in our county go and they assign each officer a kid. I got to tag a long with D and it was crazy. The whole thing started at 6 in the morning so we were up at 4, met the other guys at 5ish and all went down together. There were so many police cars out. Once all the officers have there child, they let them sit in front of police car and play with lights and sirens. Crazy loud and bright. There were so many cars it was crazy. We drove through a light festival, then to a local school for breakfast, and then to Kmart to spend their money.

Creepy Santa. Not sure why they would scare the children like that but he was definitely not the cute grandpa type you would imagine. D and the other guys from Pleasant Grove couldn't stop laughing. They were horrible.

2011- Our Little Soccer Man

Canyon played soccer this year for the first time. I think he liked it for the most part. He was really confident in his running ability and it was so fun to watch him watch himself. He wasn't the best goalie. He kind of would watch the ball roll in the goal and didn't grasp the concept that when you are goalie you CAN touch the ball. :) He was fast though and I think maybe a couple more years he will be leading the pack. All in all, I think he liked being part of a team and loved the attention when everyone would come watch.

St.George 2011

The Cleggs took us on a family trip down to St. George this summer and it was great. We did a little walking in the red rocks, pictures, Fiesta Fun Center, and of course Tuachan's The Little Mermaid. It was so fun to be with the whole family and let the cousins play around.

Beach House 2011

This summer my moms family had a reunion and my Grandma got a beach house for the week. Seriously most fun trip! Canyon hasn't stopped talking about it. Sorry, picture overload. These are a few of the pictures in no particular order.

Jon Graduated

Canyon turned 4!!! I can't believe how fast the time goes. Canyon: You are the most amazing kid ever. You are laid back and usually pretty easy going. Your favorite movie is Karate Chop Boy (The Next Karate Kid) and you have picked up some of the moves to practice on your brother. You love to swim even though you are a little afraid of the water. You love to play baseball and soccer. Everything is a competition with you. Crew follows you everywhere and you love it. We love you so much and are so lucky to have you!! xoxo - mom

The older my boys get the more fun holidays are. We started at our house with baskets and bikes, then went to Gma Belnaps for fun with the family, then on to Gma Cleggs for dinner. They had bubbles and an Easter egg hunt for all the kids.

Derek graduated the Police Academy back in April. He loved it! He can't wait to get started working. He put in for West Valley (UGH!) but he didn't get it ( hehe). Not that I don't want him to get a job, but that city is always in the news and I would be nervous to have him be working there.

My little Crewser turned 2 and I can't believe how fast time goes. To Crew: You are a total MOMMAS BOY! There are times when it drives me nuts, but I know it won't be that way forever so I am soaking it up while it last. You always want to sit with me or by me no matter what I am doing. You love all sports but have a special interest in basketball. You do everything your brother does but only if he does it first. You definitely have a grumpy, mean streak that comes out when you don't get your way, but we love your little personality and love how different you are then your brother. You love your brother and he loves you!! You do everything together and love to tease. Your tough and can definitely hold your own. You gave us grief in the beginning and still are but we love you and are so lucky to have you.

Flo Rider Wipeouts

I went and watched Jess and Ty take on the Flo Rider a couple weeks ago. I couldn't resist getting pictures. Jesse had done it before so he was pretty good and was trying to conquer the 180 on the board. Tyler was a newbie and was just trying to stay up and get his feet set. Regardless there were some gnarly wipeouts that I got pictures of.

The boys and I went and watched Jon play basketball on his intermural team at school. The name of their team was "Who's your daddy?" and they were all named papa something. Jon was Papa Chink. It was funny to see the names they came up with.

So I have been excited to try out my new camera on someone who can hold still and pose. (unlike my kids) We were at my moms for dinner and we had like 40 minutes to take some pictures. It was fun! Jon is a stud and he was patient with me in the freezing cold while I tried to figure out lighting and buttons. Love you Jon!!

FJS (For Journals Sake)

Ok so this is a post with no pictures just strictly writing for my journals sake. I thought it would be beneficial some day to write some of the things going on in our family right now.

Life as we know it right now is crazy. D is in the police academy and loves it! I knew he would, but deep down I was nervous about him doing it. He has learned so much and I am getting much more confident in his abilities to do the job and that is putting me at ease. He goes to work all day and school every night and then school all day Saturday as well. So we pretty much never see each other. It makes for a lot of time with just me and the boys which is great. D will graduate at the end of April and I am counting down. I am totally excited for him!

I hate to bring this up just because it is talked about so much lately but someday looking back at the BYU Hall of Fame it will be fun to know that we were part of the JIMMER FREDETTE ERA!! Ha How about that Jimmer? Crazy good right? Byu basketball has been so fun to watch this year! They are so good which is probably why they are fun to watch. Its funny, people talk about "Being Jimmered" and people who don't follow Byu sports are so confused. I saw a sign the other day on a title company that said "We Jimmer our competition." ha I thought is was funny. Seriously everything is about Jimmer lately.

Anyway, the boys are growing up so fast and its crazy. They will be 4 and 2 this year. Canyon is into bikes, helicopters, he loves books, he loves Dora, Diego, Hook, Karate Kid (the new one with Jaden Smith. He tells me he wants to watch karate chop boy.) and all things active. Loves all sports but I think he shows bigger interest in baseball and soccer. Crew is kinda into what ever Canyon is into to. He follows Canyon everywhere and I am beginning to see what this might be like later in life when Canyon has friends over. Crew is talking tons and repeating everything! Good and Bad. Common phrase: "Canyon hurt me mommy". They play and fight together and its fun to watch.

I am just hanging out. Doing a little hair, a little real estate, and hanging with family. I am loving my camera and I am trying to figure out the whole couponing thing.

Life couldn't be better.

On my birthday we went to visit some of our good friends who just had a baby. Bridger Bawden. Isn't that the cutest name. He was so little and its crazy to think my boys were ever that little. After that we went to D's parents to watch the Byu basketball game, then we took our kids to Trafalga for some mini golf and little bowling. It was fun and they loved it. It was a great day!!

Ok, so I don't beat my child. Crew is my climber and he thought it would be fun to climb on top of our old oven and then fell off and his face broke his fall. The pictures at the bottom are the night it happened. I knew as soon as the swelling started it would be bad the next day. So this first picture was the a few days later. It was pretty much swollen shut. Poor kid.

Christmas 2010

This was our Christmas day. It kinda goes in order as to what we did. We woke up and had our own little Christmas at our house first. Canyon was so excited about the presents and the decorating this year it made it so much fun.

Then we went to Dereks parents to have breakfast and more presents. They love hanging with the cousins.

This is Grandpa Bowman. He carries this picture of Grandma Bowman around in his wallet daily. Grandma died a few years ago and so Linda made him a bigger picture and framed it for him for Christmas this year. It was pretty special.

Then off to my parents for more yummy treats and more presents. Canyons phrase of the day was "Oh man". It was so cute and funny. He would see a glimpse of the gift under the wrapping and he would start saying it until he unwrapped the rest. Pretty funny.

Tyler picked out his own Christmas this year with my dad then they wrapped everything so he had things to open. Since Jon wasn't around this year Tyler dressed in his cloths and sent him a picture about how we were thinking of him. It was pretty funny. He really did look just like Jon.

Funny story, after the presents were all done we were all sitting there and wondered where Crew went. We look into the kitchen and here he his sitting the on the chair with a bowl of m&ms between his legs just going to town. He was stuffing them in by the handfuls.

All in all the day was so fun and we were all spoiled. We are incredibly grateful for such amazing families to share the holidays with.

Thanksgiving

We spent thanksgiving in St.George with our good friends the Pfunders this year. It was a much needed vacation for us and we had so much fun. Our time there consisted of:

lots of playing (the kids and us)

my first black friday experience (which bytheway was so fun, tons of crazies)

of course an awesome thanksgiving dinner (with amazing rolls)

late nights talking and laughing (amazing how facebook can make for great laughs)

some "Just Dance" on the wii (which made for some good laughs of embarrassment)

a morning run with Marolyn which I was too out of shape to enjoy but the view was awesome

And I am sure much more but those are some of the highlights. All in all we love the Pfunders and it was a fun, relaxing trip.

My Drip Buddy

So those of you who don't know, my sister and I have MS. We are on the same meds, on the same schedule. I am not happy Linds has it but I am happy that her and I can drive to SLC every month together and drip together. We get a IV every month for a couple hours, so not bad at all. So here we are dripping and watching Modern Family on the computer. Thank goodness for Wireless Internet. :)

Okay so I have a crazy story! A couple months ago I got into the car with my kids to go to my parents house. I was on the phone with my cousin Brittany and all the sudden I felt something itch my leg. So, I reached down to itch the itch and all the sudden I felt a STING then another STING!! No joke. The bee flew out from my jeans and hit the window. I started screaming to Britt telling her a bee just stung me, a bee just stung me!!!! Can you believe that?! The sneaky sucker climbed up my pants and stung my leg while I was driving. Anyway, this was the result from that dumb little bee.

Halloween 2010

Halloween is never a time that I look forward to, but its always fun. As the boys get older it becomes much more exciting. (Just like everything else.) Here we are with our 2 monkeys. It was Canyons idea to match costumes so that's what we did.

Mom and Cindy (Jons mom) at the trunk-or-treat, which was inside the church cause it was freezing cold and snowing outside.

At the halloween store they had these toy story......... things to put your face into. It was funny. Derek was holding the boys up so they could reach.

Carving pumpkins with friends is always fun, and crazy. My boys hate the feeling of the guts. I can't figure out why this picture is turned. Anyhow, you can see Crews face and it says it all.

The Cleggs built a garage onto there house and Derek helped do some of the work and organizing. I thought these pics of the boys helping him were kinda cute. Derek spent his days here and then nights at school so we never got to see him. So a lot of the days we would go see him and eat lunch and hang out. It was good for the boys and my sanity. I didn't take before pics but the top pic is the finished product. It is amazing.

This is the theme that Linds chose. Black and Green. She was really struggling trying to figure out what she wanted. I thought this wedding was so fun to plan. Its different then planning your own. When its your own you get to a point (like Lindsay did) when you say "I don't care" and want to pull out your hair. But for me, it was so fun!! I don't know how else to describe it. I didn't have to pay, I just got to pick things out and think of ideas and spend tons of time with my mom and Linds. I loved it and the day turned out amazing. (I thought. )

Lindsay Lou got married 2 months ago and here is our girls outing the day before she got married. We all got our toes done and Linds got her nails done. As you can see, she was glowing with excitement!! It was so fun!

Jon's Baptism

My little brother from another mother Jon, got baptized this summer and it was incredible. This was an amazing testimony builder for me. Jon is 18, a senior in high school and the first member in his family. He has been toying with the idea for awhile now but wasn't sure if it was right. He had so many spiritual experiences this summer then we went on our trip. He drove home with Tyler (my other brother) from Atlanta so they had lots of time together. They started talking about the church and Tyler ( who if I may say is an amazing example to me with an incredible testimony) had the opportunity to bear his testimony to Jon and the talk about the amazing blessing he has received from having the gospel. Ty said they rode in silence for a couple hours and when Jon finally spoke his whole demeanor had changed. He became excited and told Ty that he now knew the church was true and he was ready. They came home and talked about how strong the spirit was in the car. Jon called everyone and its was amazing to hear the excitement in his voice. He was so sure. He just knew. I was teary as we talked. After I started asking myself questions like: Would I had been strong enough to go against my family for something I knew was true? And at age 18, I still feel 18 (ha) but I know the influences were hard then, I know they are harder now. So, could I rise above temptation?

I would hope so. It was a great day full of tears and excitement. I am so glad Jon is part of our family. He fits in perfect!

Belnap Family Reunion 2010

North Carolina

Yep, the end of July was our trip to NC for the reunion. It was really fun. Very exhausting but fun. We had to switch planes in Minnesota so we were waiting for the flight to board and it kept getting delayed. It was okay for a minute but by this time we were anxious to get there. We found out someone from the previous flight had put a diaper and "something else" down the toilet so we were waiting for it to get fixed. We were there like 3 1/2 hours. We left at 11 am and got to our final destination at 3am. Crazy day. The kids were champs.

At the airport waiting to go. I was worried about the 4 hour flight with Crew cause he isn't the kind to sit for very long and airplanes don't offer nursery. :) ha (There's and idea.)

I bought Canyon this awesome little backpack to carry his treats in and he loved it. He loved flying. He was no problem at all. Slept great, sat great. He was amazing.

Yeah, not. This only lasted for a half hour or so.

Poor Jess and Rach. They sat right in front of us on the way there. At least it was someone I knew when Crew would pull their hair. :)

All the rest of the pics are of all the ropes courses we did. We did a zip line, a couple ropes course, climbing wall, and huge swing. Very exhausting.

Canyon's day out.

Canyon turned 3 and we thought it would be fun to take him out with just the three if us. We dropped the Crewser off at Grandmas and went out. Canyon choose to go golfing so we took him to Trafalga. I have not been there for a long time, but I must say, they redid the whole thing and it was way fun.

We rode go carts. They only have 2 cars on the track at once so it was Derek and us. That made it kinda fun. Way bumpy though.

Tired of eating I guess....?

We were getting our carpets cleaned so everything was off the carpet including the kids. So, we kept Crew pretty happy in his chair with food since he is constantly eating. After a little whining this is how we found him. He had been eating bananas so when I went to take him out he had chunks all over his face. Kinda funny.

Derek and I had our 6 year anniversary this weekend. We left the kids (for the first time) and went for a quick trip to St. George. We saw some of our best friends, swam, sat in the hot tub, ate at some of our favorite places, shopped and got massages and pedicures. Yes, even Derek got one. He was not a fan of the pedi but loved the massage. All in all, it was short and sweet.

Yes, it is finally official!! My little sister is getting married and I can't believe it! Chad and Lindsay grew up in the same ward and Linds liked him for so long. We teased her about him in high school, then all through his mission, then he got home and came to his senses. They are great together cause he is just as crazy fun as she is.

Canyon got to play baseball for the first time this year. It was so fun to watch him interact with the other kids. He was pretty good at hitting, better at throwing and struggled with running the bases. It was cute. (I know, these pictures are horrible. My camera sucked in the gym.)

When Crew was born I remember thinking that Crew was so little and Canyon was so big they would never be able to play together. They seem so far off in the beginning, but this was the day I actually started to realize they are going to be best friends and I love it. They are starting to play together, laugh together, feel left out when one is doing something the other wants to do, and fight together!! It is so fun to watch and I can, but can't wait tell they are older to watch them do more and more together.

I love being a MOM!!!

Crew turned 1 on April 2 and we had a little party for him. All of our family came to celebrate with us.

I have a lot of cake pictures so bare with me. I added commentary because I just knew what Crew was thinking. :)

"What is that light? Am I supposed to touch it?"

I know what your thinking, trust me. The cake was supposed to be orange because I intended on making a basketball but it flopped and so did the frosting. I couldn't bring myself to buy a cake that was just going to be torn into and thrown away. I should be embarrassed to show you, but I figure when Crew looks back it will be funny for him to see that his parents gave him the ugliest, coral color cake for his 1st birthday. O well.

"Is this a trick? They never leave food on the ground on purpose. What's going on?"

"Can I touch it?"

" I am just going to sit here and look at it. Why is it a coral color? I'm a boy."

"I'll taste it. Can't be that bad."

"Why is everyone standing around staring at me? What do you want me to do?"

"Oh gosh, they are making my touch it. "

"I am just so sad, my hands are dirty. "

"Now I am just plain pissed! Everyone is just sitting around watching me get my cake all over me and it is not funny! How would you like to be naked and showing all your fat rolls while covered in food? Get me outta here."

This was the final cake when he was finished. He was mad! Ha Canyon didn't want to touch his cake at one but he was a little more picky with what he ate and did. I really thought Crew would just dig in and eat as much as he could. It was fun for a minute.

After the traumatic cake, we opened presents. I got him this walker and he loves it.

"Now I am happy. When I am standing the rolls look much better."

I know I am a dork.

Yes, I decided to potty train both Mater and Canyon at the same time. :) I figured while we were going to be home a lot we would try and do it. He has done really well but it will definitely be a process. We had him run around in his "big boy underwear" all day for a couple days. Thought he was pretty cool. ha

We got a boxer, his name is Mater. (like on Cars). He has been so fun to have around but a lot of work. Chewing on things, potty training, etc. He is only 7 weeks old so he is still a little clumsy. He loves Crew! He likes to jump on his back when he is crawling and bite his ears. I think he feels like he is the closest to his size, so he likes to pick on him. Canyon loves him, but is a little nervous around him when he is in the playful, jump around mood. ( Which is pretty much all the time.)

The bowl is huge. He won't be small forever.

Jon's parents came in town from China for a week and this is one of the activities we did. You can't come to Utah and not experience the snow. :) This was our first time going there and I thought it was so fun. Canyon loved it.

My Hgtv Moment

My mom decided to give her kitchen a face lift and this was a little bit of the process. I don't have the pictures of when we started but her walls were white and her cabinets were an old ugly wood. We painted the cabinets black and put handles on them. Walls are now tan which helps update the whole house.

Thanks to my Grandma, my mom got her counter top replaced which really put the icing on the cake. It was beautiful! My mom didn't know we were doing it so we picked it out and had them install it while she was at work.

This is the new counter top. We also gave her a bead board back splash which we had never done, so it took a little bit of trial and error but turned out awesome.

Since my mom and dad had no idea about the counter top, all of us kids (who all helped) were there for the final reveal. My mom knew we were doing the back splash that day so when she pulled up and we were all there she thought it was funny we would all come just for that.

My parents got our family a Wii for Christmas and we are totally Wii tards!! I love Mario Kart!! I could play it for hours. Its a little embarrassing but I am not a Nintendo kinda girl at all, unless it is Mario Kart! Thanks Mom!!

We had an awesome Christmas. Canyon was a little more aware of the what going on so it made it more fun. Crew loved the wrapping paper and empty boxes so its a good thing we didn't spend a lot on him. :) Canyon's favorite toy was the soccer goal. We made the rounds to see all the family and presents, presents, and more presents. We were exhausted by the end of the day but we are grateful to all of our family for everything they do for us!! We love you!

Canyon is 21/2 and he is crazy as ever. He is fun, sassy, silly and sarcastic all at the same time. We have definitely found out he repeats everything and that is scary. He has is terrible two moments but we are learning to deal with it and hoping he grows out of it soon. :)

Crew is almost 9 months now and he has been so much fun! He is happy, laid back, and chunky just like Canyon was. For that we are grateful. He is thinking about crawling, still prefers bottles over baby food (can you blame him?) and chunky as ever.

One morning I thought I would attempt potty training. I thought to myself I wonder if he will just pick it up without problems but I was wrong! The first day, after two hours of using the toliet he came running in so proud and said "Mom, I did it!" "You did what?" "I peed!" " Where?" "On the carpet!" Great! That was the end of that.
Canyon is two and a half so I am not super worried about it yet. I was just testing him. :)

Canyon caught the garter, kinda. Jesse flung it back and it fell on the floor in front of all the guys and before anyone could get to it Canyon ran and picked it up. Then he thought it was a game and tried to throw it back to Jess. It was pretty funny.

Rachels mom brought this from her stake in seattle. This is the roof of the church and this kinda created a tent feel in the gym. It was so pretty. Not your typical church wedding reception.

One of the great things about weddings is that they bring families and a whole bunch of people who don't know each other together. :) We had a great time seeing everyone.

These are my parents bestest friends that were in town bringing there daughter to BYU. It worked out perfect that they were here at the same time of the wedding. My mom was excited.

The BYU football season is something we look forward to every year. We have big parties with all of our family to watch the games. I pretty much don't have to worry about what we are doing on Saturdays, its always football. I actually love to watch BYU.

Derek and I play coed softball with a bunch of our friends and we were the champions or this league. We were pretty exctied about that considering the team we beat was undefeated for 15 games. It was fun!

We went to the rodeo a couple weeks ago and Canyon loved it! He didn't complain about the cold or sitting for that long.

This was at the beginning while the flag goes around the rodeo grounds and Canyon looked around and saw everyone else with their hand over their heart so he thought he would do it too.

This is the happy couple. My brother Jesse made his engagement official a couple weeks ago and I am so excited for him. Rachel is from Seattle and they met at work.

Their big day is August 29th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I am so excited for them and I am glad to have Rachel in our family. She is definitely a great addition.
