What a Week...........

This all started on Monday, because it was a holiday for the city Derek had the day off. (Thank Goodness) We had spent the whole day running errands and I was trying to get Canyon down for a nap. Derek and I were watching Canyon spin and he lost his balance and came down with his head on the corner of the TV stand. Derek jumped to grab him while I jumped up to grab some rags for the blood we knew would be there. Next thing we know Canyon is screaming while Derek is trying to hold him and I am trying to put a little pressure on the cut. We knew he needed stiches.

Isn't this the saddest face you have ever seen. This is us at the Instacare by our house waiting to get into the doctor. The cotton had numbing cream on it so he wouldn't feel the shot they had to give him. Little did any of us know what this common procedure would be like for him.
After we get back to the room the doctor is getting the shot ready and they pulled out the child restraint thing. They tie his hands down and mummy wrap him so only his feet stick out and his head. Then they have a nurse hold his head while they cover it with a germ free paper so he can't see us. Can you imagine as a 1 1/2 old? Between the regular mommy emotions and the pregnant emotions, I was fighting tears the whole time.
Canyon was so good and there were breif moments during the stiching that he stopped crying to talk to the doctor. I was amazed!

This was after the trauma was over and we got home. He only needed 3 stiches so for that we are grateful. He only had the stiched for a week.

Everyone says that this won't be the first time but I am deffinetly not looking forward to this experience ever again. I guess that is what I get for having boys!

It was a long day........

After a long struggle to get Canyon down for a nap this is where he ended up. I am not ready to give up on the whole nap thing. With the baby coming, he has to be napping. I didn't expect the struggle to start this soon but he is definitely giving me a run for my money.

Look, hat mom!

One Sunday while getting ready for church we were scrambling to get ourselves ready and Canyon was running around only half dressed and he found a "hat".

This is his cheesy smile. The funny part was how long he kept it on his head. Didn't seem to bother him at all.
